Well, you can’t win everything. I’m willing to give the president a pass on this one, so long as he continues to show a commitment to reproductive rights.Hell no. If this isn’t in the stimulus plan, existing programs could be cut or eliminated. Family planning is in everyone’s best economic interests, so no fucking passes.
Except the WH has already indicated they’re going to reintroduce the issue in a separate bill, and this economic stimulus bill should have passed, like, yesterday. Dire economic straits that need to be dealt with TODAY trump reproductive rights issues that can be brought up next month, IMO. Obama’s already repealed the global gag rule and pledged to uphold Roe v. Wade, I think he’s doing just fine.
